Howdy friends! July is HERE & what a time to come to Branson for your vacation! So much to see & do. I should know I have 5 plus jobs here in the area. Many new shows & attractions to check-out when you are here too.
This is my 31st season with Silver Dollar City & speaking of celebrating… They are celebrating their 50th anniversary ALL year long! If you were born in 1960 or if you were married in 1960 you get a FREE season pass! Just bring proof of your birth (1 pass) or marriage (2 passes) to any ticket booth & they will issue you your FREE season passes! You can’t buy FREE!
I play several characters all day long over the entire 56 acre park! I am off on Sunday & Monday so you won’t find me there on those days. Here are some of the characters you might see me as…
They also have a new ride in celebration of their 50th anniversary. It’s called ‘Tom & Huck’s River Blast’ You WILL get wet!
7 nights a week you will find me in The Shepherd of the Hills play! They are also celebrating their 50th anniversary! It is America’s largest outdoor drama filled with spectacle. I love this show because the book, ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ by Harold Bell Wright, it the cause of tourism in Branson! Plus, I get to work with my family at the show. This is our oldest son’s 9th season. Austin started out as ‘Little Pete’ & now he does the lights & sound. Evan is in his 6th season, he also started out as ‘Little Pete’. For a while we had Pete & Re-Pete! Now he does many jobs, lights/sound, props, usher, & ‘Little Pete’. My wife Dede plays a couple of roles in this amazing production, including ‘Mrs. Wheeler’ the lady who beats the thunder out of her husband. I play 2 roles, ‘Ollie’ the city-slicker who’s back in town to woo ‘Sammy Lane’ & I play ‘Doc’. His catch-phrase is, What would Sarah & the girls say?”
I’m in my 13th season on The Vacation Channel as ‘Terry the Tour Guide’. This hour-long show is called ‘Branson Country’ & it keeps you up-to-date on what’s happening in Branson & the surrounding areas, plus weather up-dates 4 times every hour! That’s channel 6 locally.
So many places to stay at in these lovely Ozark hills! One that is spectacular is Big Cedar Lodge!
And yes, I work there too! I host an hour-long campfire wagon ride as ‘Deputy Birdy Tweedle’ Call 417-335-2777 to confirm that days & times that I am there.
If you are a gardener, love the great outdoors, fresh produce, crafts galore, & entertainment come to the Baker Creek Seed Company in Mansfield, MO. the 1st Sunday of every month! They have a big festival with all of those things.
Oh yeah, I work there too! I play several characters there as well! August will be my LAST appearance there so… See you Sunday, August 1st!
What a way to make a living! Hey, you may be thinking, “Didn’t he say 5 jobs?” Well, I make a lot of personal appearances on the side & between jobs so… If you’d like to have me, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders (Or any of my other characters) come & entertain you or your company, let me know! Just e-mail me at Mrheha@aol.com – I’m here for you!
Oh don’t forget, the documentary ‘Joan Rivers – A Piece Of Work’ has been released in theatres! It’s a no-holds-barred look into her public & private life. I make a cameo in it. I spent the day with the real Joan last year & the film crew found out that I was from Branson, an entertainer, & that I impersonate her so… Check it out. Remember it is for MATURE audiences only.
I have been so blessed to do what I do for a living for 31 years & to meet so many wonderful people. It has been a joy to make people laugh & forget their troubles. We still need to pray for our troupes/armed forces who protect our freedoms everyday & for this horrible oil spill that must be stopped now in the Gulf.
God bless you all! Your pal, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders & my family
