Howdy friends! June is here & wow is Branson ever busy! So much is going on for me, ‘Homer Lee’ as well as Branson!

Last month there was a benefit for an amazing performer & dear friend, Tom Mullica. Over 850 people were there to show their love & support for him! He does his tribute to Red Skelton here in Branson as well as around the nation. Tom has Leukemia & is needing financial help. If you are in town or would like to make a donation please do so c/o the information below.
Call 417-239-1333 for more details on how you can help this wonderful man. Tom, we are with you all the way!
Silver Dollar City had their official 50th Anniversary opening on May 1st! It was spectacular! What a feeling of pride for the park, the ‘citizens, & our guests.
Here are the Herschend families with special guests & below are the 5,000-plus fans in Echo Hollow watching this momentous occasion!
I am honored to say this is my 31st season at Silver Dollar City. 5 days a week I am playing multiple characters all day long over the 56 acre park!

Mr. M. Balmer
And my newest character, ‘Colonel Paisley Alowishous Parnell’. A true Southern gentleman, Atlanta Georgia to be precise. His great-aunt, Opal Parnell donated the McHaffie homestead to Silver Dollar City. Here he is below.
3 days a week (Monday, Friday, & Saturday) I leave Silver Dollar City & go to Big Cedar Lodge where I host a campfire wagon ride as ‘Deputy Birdy’ That is from 6:30 PM – 7:30PM. It is open to anyone either staying at the lodge or right off of the street, well, Hwy. 86! Call 417-335-2777 for reservations.
Here I am as ‘Deputy Birdy’… your host of the fun-filled campfire wagon ride!
Then, as if this wasn’t enough, I am in my 4th season in The Shepherd of the Hills play! I am there every night they have a show – in other words, right now I am there 6 nights a week & then later we will go to a 7-night a week schedule! I play 2 comic relief characters, ‘Ollie’ the city slicker.

Greg Winters on the left & me as 'Ollie' on the right
And then I play ‘Doc’. His catch-phrase is, “What would Sarah & the girls say!?!”

Evan my youngest son as 'Little Pete' on the left & I as 'Doc' on the right
What I love most is that my family works there too! Yes, my wife & our 2 sons. Dede plays ‘Mrs. Wheeler’, Austin, our oldest, is in his 10th season there & does the lights & sound. Evan has been ‘Little Pete’ for 6 years & now does this role some & is training to do the lights & sound!

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Now, as if that weren’t enough… The 1st Sunday of June, July, & August, I perform several characters at The Bakers Creek Seed Company in Mansfield, MO! I love it out there too! What a great place for seeds, plants, guest lecturers, vendors of all sorts, & LIVE entertainment! I play ‘Deputy Birdy’, ‘Grandpa Tabuchi’ (Shoji’s grandfather), Barney Fife, & ‘Ada Mae’.

'Miss Ada Mae Wheeler'
I still make personal appearances too! I was just in Sioux City, IA with a group called Spoken 4.
