Silver Dollar City has ‘World Fest’ from April 8th – May 9th.  Over 200 performers from around the world over the 56 acre park Wednesday – Sunday & CLOSED on Mondays & Tuesdays.  They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year in a BIG way.  Click onto their link for all of the details.

SDC 50th

My schedule is a crazy one – what a surprise, huh?  This is my 31st season at Silver Dollar City & I will be playing about 4-6 characters a day all over the park…

I have new characters that will be making appearances soon at Silver Dollar City!

This is my 4th season in The Shepherd of the Hills play & I will be there every night they are open (Except for a couple of nights that I have previous bookings).  Always check my ‘Personal Appearances’ page for the latest up-dates/changes.  I play 2 characters in the play, ‘Ollie Stewart’ the city-licker want-to-be & ‘Doc’, a doctor from Chicago who’s catch-phrase is, “What would Sarah & the girls say?”  My wife & our 2 sons also work there so I get to see my family at night – finally!  Shepherd of the Hills is celebrating their 50th Anniversary too!

In between those jobs I host a ‘Campfire Wagon Ride’ at the Big Cedar Lodge 3 nights a week!  Mondays, Fridays, & Saturdays as ‘Deputy Birdy Tweedle’  It’s for anyone who loves to ride in a wagon, stop off at a campsite in the woods by Table Roc Lake & toast marshmallows.  Plus you get to listen to a cowboy (& sometimes a cowgirl too) sing some of your favorite songs & then we head back in the wagons to Big Cedar!

This month I will film my hour-long TV show on The Vacation Channel as ‘Terry the Tour Guide’ – It’s my 13th year with this show called ‘Branson Country’ that keeps you up-to-date on all that’s happening in Branson country plus weather up-date 4 times every hour!

Along with all of this, I still make many personal appearances, last week I was with a group called ‘Spoken 4’ performing in the historic Orpheum Theatre in down town Sioux City, IA.  This weekend I will be ‘Joan Rivers’ on the red carpet at the Chateau on the Lake for a PRIVATE party.  So, if you want me to entertain you…  Let me know so I can work you into my life!

Thanks for being my friend for 31 years here in Branson, MO as well as around the world with your letters, phone calls, e-mails, & Facebook messages…  Yes, I’m on Facebook!  Terry Wayne Sanders, just got to Facebook & click onto my name & be my newest Facebook buddy!  Anyway, my heartfelt love to you all for your love & support & I look forward to seeing you either here in Branson at one of my many jobs or maybe Wal-Mart!  Everyone goes to Wal-Mart!  Or at one of my personal appearances.

Always,

April is near & Branson is booming!

03.21.10

Howdy friends!  It’s me, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders, Branson’s busiest comedian.  People keep asking me, “Homer Lee, where are you now?”.  I tell them, “I’m just like dandelions, I’m all over the place!”  Heads up for today & tomorrow…  I will leave Silver Dollar City early today at 2 PM so I can drive this afternoon to Sioux City, IA for a show tomorrow at the Orpheum Theatre with Spoken 4!  That means I WON’T be at Big Cedar on Monday to do my ‘Campfire Wagon Ride’, BUT my good friend Jack ‘Mercy Pervis the III & 1/2’ McDowell will cover for me & he’s a hoot!

This is my 31st season at Silver Dollar City & what a place to be, especially this year as they celebrate their 50th anniversary!  SDC 50th

Go to silverdollarcity.com for ALL of the AMAZING things they are doing for this celebration.  I know what you’re thinking, “Oh yeah?  AMAZING like what?”  How about this…  If you were born in 1960 or were married in 1960, you gat a FREE season pass!  See, AMAZING huh?  That’s just the tip of the theme park iceberg.

This is THE year to come to Silver Dollar City.  Remember in 1969 ‘The Beverly Hillbillies’ came to Silver Dollar City?  They sure did & filmed 6 episodes of their show there! (My favorite ones)

The Beverly Hillbillies at SDC 1969

This was the only time my parents didn’t take our family to Silver Dollar City because my father said, “We can’t go down there while they’re filming, why, there’ll be over 3,000 people there!”  Hello?  That’s a quiet day now!  Silver Dollar City has a special limited edition DVD of ALL 6 episodes for about $14.00!  What an AMAZING deal!

Also this season I host a ‘Campfire Wagon Ride’ at Big Cedar Lodge.

Big Cedar Lodge

Big Cedar Lodge

I know what you’re thinking about this… “Gee I bet you have to be a guest at Big Cedar Lodge to ride on this great trip with our pal Homer Lee!” (‘Deputy Birdy Tweedle’ for this event)

Birdy Tweedle

Birdy Tweedle

WRONG!  It’s open to the guests as well as anyone who wants to go!  Call 417-335-2777 for reservations.  It’s an hour-long, fun-filled trip, riding with me to a campsite where we will toast marshmallows,  drink sarsaparilla, cream soda, & listen to a cowboy or sometimes a cowgirl too, sing your favorite songs & then we’ll head back to the lodge on the wagon.  Lord knows I’ve been on & off the wagon for some time.

This will be my 3rd season to be back in ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ play & they are celebrating their 50th anniversary too!  This is what originally caused the tourism boom  to Branson!

Shepherd of the HIlls logo

When Harold Bell Wright’s book, ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ was published in 1907 it sold like funnel cakes & people flocked to the Ozark hills to see these people.  I play 2 comic relief characters in the play, ‘Ollie Stewart’ the city slicker want-a-be & ‘Doc’ who’s catch-phrase is, “What would Sarah & the girls say!”.  I love being there not just because it’s America’s largest outdoor drama, but, my wife & our 2 sons work there also!  Yes, I finally get to see my family at night!  It’s about time!

I will film my hour-long TV show, ‘Branson Country’ on The Vacation Channel in April.  This is my 13th season in the show & I love playing ‘Terry the Tour Guide’.  He’s just like John Edwards, he sure gets around…

I am back at The Baker Creek Seed Company near Mansfield, MO the first Sunday of June, July, & August.  I may be there the first Monday of May for at least half of the day, 9 AM – 2 PM.  Check my ‘Personal Appearances’ schedule as we get closer to that date.

Don’t forget, I make a lot of personal appearances as well.  If you have a special occasion coming up & want live entertainment, let me know!  I will try to work you into my schedule.  One of my best friends, Jack ‘Merciful Pervis the III & a 1/4’ McDowell & I just performed at the Hilton Convention Center near the Branson Landing on Saturday night for ‘Camp Quality‘ — a wonderful organization that helps kids with cancer go to their camp.  We all had a blast!  Check-out their link here at Homerlee.com – they are incredible people!

Do you like FREE ice cream?  Of course you do!  Even my best friend Dean the ‘dip your hand in wax’ guy at Silver Dollar City likes FREE ice cream!  I will be scooping FREE Ben & Jerry’s ice cream down at the Branson Landing this coming Tuesday, March 23rd from 6 PM to 8 PM as ‘Terry the Tour Guide’.  If you can’t make it while I’m on scooping duty come down any time during the day because it’s FREE!  You can’t buy FREE ice cream!

Thanks friends for dropping in on me your buddy all these years, ol’ (NOT old) Homer Lee.  Keep posted here for even more scoop as the season goes on!  Always, Terry ‘Homer Lee’ Sanders

I will be at Big Cedar Lodge this season too.  Check my schedule for all the dates of all my jobs, but I should be at Big Cedar 3 nights a week.  Usually from 5-6 PM hosting their ‘Campfire Wagon Rides’  Yes, fun with me as ‘Deputy Birdy Tweedle’ as I entertain you all the way to the campsite & there you will get to sit around a campfire, toast marshmallows, & listen to a cowboy sing some of your favorite songs.  We’ll have sarsaparilla, cream soda, & great fun!  Call 417-335-2777 for reservations.

May 1st we open up ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ play!  I’ll be there just about every night they are open!  I play 2 characters in the play, ‘Ollie’ the citified young man who enters in a real 1907 DeWitt!  And then I also play ‘Doc’, the old man who’s catchphrase is, “What would Sarah & the girls say?”  My lovely wife & our 2 sons work there also.

Shepherd of the Hills will offer a new attraction this season, a zip-line called ‘Vigilante’!  You start at the top of Inspiration Tower going 1/2 of a mile at 50 miles per hour!  I’ll see you there!

A lot of changes in Branson, some new roads, new shows, & with plastic surgery becoming so commonplace, a lot of new – old faces!  If you are a local or come to Branson a lot, my favorite place is AJ’s 1-Stop on the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway just east of the Hamner Barber Theatre.  As of today, regular is $2.67.9 BUT, if you have their AJ-s 1-Stop card, you get .10 (That’s ten cents) off per gallon so… it’s only $2.57.9!  This week, if you have your AJ’s 1-Stop card you can get a 20 ounce cappuccino for only .99!  (That’s ninety-nice cents)  Warm weather is here & they also have Ethel & Andy’s ice cream so…  Hello!?!  I’ll see you there!

Stay tuned friends as things change & so will I!  Well, at least my socks & underwear!

March Madness Is Here!

03.01.10

Howdy friends!  March madness is here!  Ready or not.  Branson is getting ready to open-up for the 2010 season & it’s going to be an amazing year!  So many new things like… not 1, but 2 new zip-lines!  One of these is located about 6 miles north of Branson on Hwy. 65 & the other is conveniently located at the Inspiration Tower at the Shepherd of the Hills!  It’s called ‘Vigilante’ & will take you 1/2 of a mile at 50 miles per hour!  The price is great comparatively speaking & if you are a local there’s a discount so…  What are you waiting for?  I’ll see you there! Shepherd of the HIlls logo

I begin my newest job this week!  Yes, I’m performing at Big Cedar in their ‘Campfire Wagon Ride’ as ‘Birdy Tweedle’!  This week I will be there on Friday & Saturday nights from 5-6.  For reservations call 417-335-2777.  It’s a fun-filled wagon ride being entertained by ‘Birdy’. We’ll ride together to a campfire where you’ll be roasting marshmallows  on an open campfire & hearing a real cowboy sing your favorite songs.  Fresh sarsaparilla & cream soda will be flowing & then non-stop action from ‘Birdy’ on the wagon ride back to Big Cedar!

Birdy Tweedle

Birdy Tweedle

I’ll be there March – October on Mondays, Fridays, & Saturdays & ALWAYS check my ‘Personal Appearances’ page here at Homerlee.com for the latest up-dates on my whereabouts – it changes a lot!  I was thrilled last year to be a part of Big Cedar’s ‘Christmas At Home’ celebration as ‘Barney Fife’ in a special show for the whole family!  And now to be in a new venture with them is beyond words.  Big Cedar is a class act from the get-go!

I should be taping my hour-long TV show on the Vacation Channel in April or May so, watch for me & my film crew around town.  Or just tune into ‘The Vacation Channel for ‘Branson Country’ with me, ‘Terry the Tour Guide’.  This is my 13th season with my show on the Vacation Channel… “Watch us first!”

I’m celebrating my 3rd season in ‘The Shepherd of the Hills’ play.  I’ll be there practically every night they have a show.  I have a few appearances already booked somewhere else, otherwise – I’m there!  The best part about being in the first true show in Branson, is that I get to work with my lovely wife, Dede & our 2 sons.  Dede plays a couple of the characters in the play, Evan, our youngest son is in his 6th season as ‘Little Pete’, & Austin, our oldest son, started out as ‘Little Pete’ & now he does the lights & sound – his 11th season there!

I plan on being at the ‘Baker Creek Seed Company’ near Mansfield, MO this season too!  It looks like I will be there the first Sunday of June, July, & August.  I’ll be playing several characters there & having the time of my life!  If you have never been there… GO!  It’s an amazing story & it will make you believe in all that your grandparents did & what they taught you.  Plus, they have guest speakers about how, when, & where to plant the old time REAL/PURE seeds that you can get at Bakersville!  On top of all that, during their festivals they have vendors selling FRESH produce & tons of other things.  There’s live entertainment, music, contests, & more!  Please make this a priority on your list of ‘must see’ things to do.

I am still making a lot of personal appearances so please checkout the ‘Personal Appearances’ page  too.  And even though it sounds like I am non-stop, if you have a special gathering, family reunion, or corporate event, I welcome you to contact me & see if I can bring my brand of humor & motivation to you!

Thanks for dropping in to check on me here at Homerlee.com.  It really means the world to me.

Also, if you like to surf the ‘Net’ check out my dear friend, Karen Berka & her live radio show at http://www.bransonradiolive.com.  I was just on her show last Friday & had a ball!

I’m working on some special events all season long at Big Cedar this year.  I’ll have more details about that soon right here at Homerlee.com!  It is truly one of the most beautiful resorts that we have in the area & this year they are offering even more tremendous things to experience.

I have many up-coming personal appearances that are listed on the ‘Personal Appearances’ page & many more to be added as the contracts are finalized.

I’m still on cloud nine from seeing Joan Rivers in concert at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall where she did her stand-up comedy!  Not only did we see he hysterical show, but we were asked to come backstage after the show & visit too!  Joan signed a photo of she & I together that was taken 1 year ago when we met in MN.!
